String Bass and Graduation Card

This is my stop on the Club Scrap Blog Hop featuring The Blues collection. To start at the beginning of the hop, click HERE and if you're on track, you've arrived from A Notebook Novel.

With my daughter graduating from high school in a few days, I'll be needing lots of congrats cards for her and her friends. Time to get started!

I didn't take any photos of the steps for the card below, but I wanted to point out a few things. The large image came from The Blues Collection UM. I love the three-panel collage which was stamped onto a dictionary page and cut into sections with a craft knife.

Stamp the image once again onto White Plain and use a detail scissors to cut out the circle. Adhere the word "congrats" from a dictionary page within the space between sections. Attach the circle to the card with foam adhesive and finish with a Silver Treble Clef charm.

This next card just makes me giggle.

After stamping the string bass image on white paper with India Black ink, pierce holes to add waxed linen thread to the instrument.

Thread a needle with waxed linen and stitch into the pierced holes. You could also use a very thin, pliable jewelry wire.

Stamp the sheet music image onto the panel, layer onto a card, add a sentiment and embellish with ribbon and a treble clef charm.

I have no shortage of musically-inclined graduates who will love these cards!

Your next stop on the hop is Donna Nuce at the Crafty Colonel. Have fun over there!

I can't wait until next month when we explore National Parks!
