Today's cards feature OWH card sketch #28.
True to form, I set up a paper cutting diagram so that I could use just three sheets of 8.5x11 paper to make three standard cards with interchangeable pieces. It's my policy to have as few scraps as possible, and this cutting formula is no exception!
Watch a how-to video with added tips and techniques.
Download your formula's cutting instructions here.

ReplyDeleteWOW. I have never made more than one card at a time. That is why I have tons of 'junk' scraps that I end up never using. This is super. You have inspired me to do better! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteBookmarked to come back to view the video - I need all the help I can get with those scraps and the best help of all would be not to have so many! Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh - I love the sentiments you used!

This is one of my favorite sketches too, it takes planning and precision and that can be a challenge in itself. You've executed it nicely!

ReplyDeleteWell done! Love love love what you've taught us here...maybe now the Scrap Wrangler won't have to go tackle people who keep so many little bits :) :) :) heehee! Thanks for hopping with OWH!
ReplyDeleteGreat take on this sketch and especially nice to see the variations too. This is a great choice for cards where a sentiment is the focal point like these. Nice work! Thanks for joining in the Memorial Day hop and for supporting OWH.

ReplyDeleteLove those sentiments! I didn't know there was a stamp with "Life is like a roll of toilet paper"...I always quote that but didn't know where it came from!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors and layouts for this sketch! Your support for Operation Write Home means a lot. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I don't mind scraps so much, but I love the way you've quickly made 3 cards that have design and depth. They look like they took much longer!
ReplyDeleteThat is WICKED cool!! I love efficiency and I hate scraps so I will definitly be back to follow this tutorial. Thanks for sharing your knowledge...
ReplyDeleteLike Nancy, I never make more than one card at a time, but now that I bought my Tonic Trimmer, I think I'll be more likely to, because for the first time in about fifteen years I have one that actually cuts straight! (Or lets me, aka crooked girl, cut straight, because I'd even screw up paper on the big one with the laser line.) I LOVE what you did with all the cards. The paper choices are so bright and cheerful and the sentiments great. That last one made me lol!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your interpretation of the sketch, especially the third card being rotated to a horizontal orientation (and that sentiment made me chuckle). Thanks for the video and the cutting diagram.
ReplyDeleteLove the papers you used great job! TFS :)

ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing the cutting instructions for your cards. I saw the YouTube video for this earlier today and was hoping to find instructions. Glad I continued looking at the OWH blog hop entries and found this one. I love how 3 cards were made with the same papers while achieving slightly different looks. I also love the "bird with a french fry" sentiment, it makes for a great laugh!
