Hidden Binding Envelope Book

Welcome to my post on the Club Scrap Garden Shed Blog Hop. This month's collection is gorgeous!

Take the entire tour of hop by starting with Karen at the Club Scrap site. If you're on route, your previous stop was wth Pam and then you're off to Roni's blog.

I was so "pinspired" by a hidden binding book made from envelopes that I had to drop everything and make this . . .

The finished size of the mini album is 3.75x5.25" with a 2" spine. I had fun decorating all of the pages and flaps with the Garden Shed cutaparts, papers and embellishments from my stash.

The washi tape included in the Lite collection is so adorable! It added finishing touches everywhere.

I used 4-Bar envelopes measuring 3-5/8x5-1/8". The envelopes need to have a straight flap rather than a pointed flap.

Adhere the envelope "pages" to the accordion folds of the binding. The space between each page allows for all sorts of bulky embellishments. Watch this video to learn how to make the hidden binding.

Each "page" consist of two envelopes bound together in a clever way to make several pockets and flaps. It's very interactive. Learn more about how the pages are created by watching the video on this blog.

I even love the view from the top! There's more room to add items to the pockets formed by each pair of envelopes. I thought it would be cute to use my envelope punch board to make tabs, and have them sticking out of the top of the book.

Hindsight being 20/20, next time I'll leave more space between the first page and the front cover so the front cover will close completely.

I hope you enjoyed this book tour! Next, hop along to Roni's blog . . .

Have a fine, fine day.
Tricia

  11. I'm so lucky I got to see the Hidden Binding Envelope Book in person. The spacing between the envelope pages is so nice for adding chunky stuff, and the thickness of the book has a cool feel to it all around, and so darn cute created with the Garden Shed Collection.
