Pull up on the tag inside the card pocket . . .
. . . and the "party time" element slides up while the greeting is revealed.
Follow these basic steps to create the slider card:
1. Score a 5.5x8.5 sheet of Celebrate Blue Plain horizontally at .5 and 4.5".
2. Nest a 3.75x5.25" White Print panel within the 4" scored area adjacent to the 1/2" score.
3. Place a grid ruler 1.5" from the left edge of the Blue paper and cut a 3.5"-long slit starting 1" from the top edge.
4. Rotate the Blue paper 180 degrees. Add a "thumb hole" to the top center of the 3.75x5.25" White panel with a punch or craft knife. (I had to use a combination of both tools since the papers were too heavy to punch.)
5. Stamp the "let's celebrate!" image from the UM Greeting onto the top of a 3.75x5.25" White Pattern panel with India Black ink.
6. Round the outer top corners of the tag with a Corner Chomper, and punch a hole in the top center of the tag; add ribbon to the tag.
7. Add a Foam Adhesive Circle to the edge of a .75x3" paper strip.
8. Insert the strip into the slit with the foam adhesive facing up.
9. Flip the Blue paper over and apply adhesive to the exposed area of the strip. Make sure the strip is at the bottom of the slit.
10. Center the prepared 3.75x5.25" tag within the scored area and press onto the adhesive on the strip.
11. Fold along score lines. Apply adhesive to the 1/2" scored area and fold over the card flap to form the pocket.
12. Use your favorite die cutting system or punches to create an embellishment for the front of the card.
13. Attach the embellishment to the foam adhesive dot.
I had to make more . . .
The slot for this version of the card was cut at the 2" mark (rather than 1.5" from the edge), and I was able to center the artwork onto the front of the card more easily.
