OWH Sketch #183 Meets Wisteria

It's Wisteria Blog Hop time! It's also high time for a card making sketch, don'tch'ya think?

Susan S. over at the Operation Write Home Blog posted this sketch for the weekly challenge. I really liked the arrangement of elements and thought it would pair well with the Wisteria Unmounted Greeting and Art Nouveau stamps.

Wisteria Unmounted Greeting

Wisteria Unmounted Art Nouveau

Grab one plain Wisteria 12x12 in Ivory, Dark Purple and Light Purple and follow the cutting instructions below for each sheet.

1. Trim at 8.5. (Place the paper into the trimmer with the grain running left to right for easy folding.)
2. Cut the 8.5x12 horizontally at 11".
3. Trim the 1x8.5 horizontally at 4.25".
4. Cut the 3.5x12 horizontally at 11.25, 9.5 and 4.75".
5. Trim each 3.5x4.75 vertically at 2.5".
6. Cut the 1.75x8.5 horizontally at 1.75".

Score each 8.5x11 vertically at 4.25" and cut horizontally at 5.5" to form six card bases. (Scoring first saves time . . . only three sheets to score rather than six cards!)

I also incorporated six 4x5.25" panels trimmed from the 8.5x11 Wisteria Club Stamp Print. Oooh . . . that's a beauty.

Sort and arrange the pieces into card-making piles and assemble them according to the sketch. I had fun choosing embellishments from my nifty storage tray to finish the cards.

(I trimmed apart the "happy birthday" from the UM stamp sheet into two separate words so that I could stack them onto the mounting block and fit onto the square panel.)
